HEATPUNK
SUMMIT_2027
// UNDERMINING THE STATUS QUO
WHY ATTEND
Three years. Three chapters. Each summit built on the last.
The First Gathering
The first Heatpunk Summit brought together mining developers, pleb builders, tinkerers, firmware hackers, and heating and building experts for the first time ever. Around 150 people in the same room who had never met. The takeaway: we needed to get organized. That gathering led directly to heatpunks.org, the community forum, and everything since.
Formalizing the Movement
The second summit showed what organization looks like. More polished demo systems. More expertise. Professionals from ASHRAE and the DOE. Mining firmware developers. Building engineers. The 256 Foundation — a 501(c)(3) — was announced at this summit to fund the open-source mining stack: FOSS firmware, open hardware reference designs, and a documented open-source mining pool implementation.
Results. Documentation. More Builders.
The FOSS firmware is in the wild, hacked onto closed-source miners by heatpunks everywhere. Case studies have been written. The hardware building blocks exist. HPS 2027 is the year we show what has been built, document what works, and push the industry forward with evidence. Come ready to share what you've done and learn from everyone else who's been building.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Two days of focused programming at The Space in Denver. Same format that's worked the last two years.
Deep Dives & State of the Stack
Presentations covering firmware, hardware, system design, case studies, policy, and where the FOSS mining stack is headed. Expect real data and real builds — not pitch decks.
Hands-On Collaboration
Structured working sessions where builders and domain experts tackle specific problems together. Past workshops have covered hydronic integration, Home Assistant automations, firmware feedback, and building standards.
Live Hardware on the Floor
Real mining systems repurposed for heating, space heating rigs, custom control boards, firmware running on live hardware. If you built it, bring it. The demo floor is where ideas become credible.
Cross-Industry Connections
The rarest thing about this event: mining developers, pleb builders, HVAC engineers, building professionals, firmware hackers, and policy people in the same room. The hallway conversations matter as much as the formal program.

BECOME A SUPPORTER
The Heatpunk Summit exists because a few organizations believed in this community before it was organized. HPS 2027 is actively seeking sponsors and supporters.
This is a focused, technical audience: mining developers, firmware hackers, HVAC engineers, building professionals, and serious hobbyists. People who are actually building systems, not just talking about it.
Sponsoring gives you direct access to this community — on the floor, in the workshops, in the hallway conversations that don't get recorded. If your product or service is relevant to the open-source mining stack or hashrate heating, this is the event where the builders are.
No tier packages or fixed menu. Reach out and we'll put together something that makes sense for both sides.

Tickets are $350 USD. You can pay in fiat or bitcoin. The purchase link is sent after we review your waitlist application — we curate attendance to keep the signal high.
The Heatpunk Summit is a working event, not a conference. We keep it small and hands-on by reviewing who attends. Join the waitlist, tell us about yourself and your work, and if you're a fit we'll send you the ticket link. If demand is high, we prioritize people who are actively building.
February 26–27, 2027 at The Space in RiNo, Denver, Colorado. A ski day on February 25th is also being planned — details TBD.
Mining developers, firmware hackers, pleb builders, HVAC engineers, building professionals, architects, electricians, and serious hobbyists. The mix of mining expertise and building/heating expertise in the same room is what makes this event unique.
A laptop if you plan to participate in workshops. If you've built something relevant — bring it. The demo floor is where ideas get real. Dress is casual.
Yes — reach out to admin@heatpunks.org with a description of what you'd like to show. We prioritize live hardware and working builds over slides.
Denver International Airport (DEN) is about 40 minutes from the venue. The A Line train runs from DIA to downtown Denver. The Space is in the RiNo Art District, accessible via rideshare from downtown or a short walk from the 38th & Blake light rail station.
